One More Reason Why Progressives Will Win in the End

I spent a throughly unpleasant lunch hour listening to a Heritage Foundation panel about why we need to cut Social Security benefits now for the sake of our children (seriously), and it was made all the more unpleasant by the fact that the rich bastards at Heritage didn’t even have the decency to provide lunch.  On the flip side, I routinely attend lunchtime panels by progressive orgs like the Center for American Progress and the American Constitution Society, and always get a nice sandwich to go with my enlightenment.

Notably, Heritage was barely able to fill the tiny room their panel was held in (and I think most of the attendees were Heritage interns, judging from the youth of the audience and the fact that almost no one had an overcoat).  CAP and ACS, however, routinely fill much larger rooms with the promise of not-insane ideas and free food.

Full Disclosure: I used to be on ACS’ staff, and I was a legal intern for CAP several summers ago.
